EL Empathy Experiences
“I went on this trip in June 2024. I have taught English Learners for the past 12 years in an elementary school in TN. I lived overseas for 5 years out of college moving to a place I didn’t know the language. That was an experience for me that shaped a lot of the way I interact with students. However, this trip in June was very powerful for me as an educator. I participated in a 4th grade classroom as a student. My teacher did not speak English and I realized in those days just how little Spanish I knew. I found myself depending on social cues and other students (who also did not speak a lot of English). My teacher really tried to engage me and include me. I felt dismissed by students sometimes because I couldn’t explain myself. I also went to Spanish class for 2 hours at the end of my school day. My brain was fried! It really was an empathy building experience.”

“Overall Experience? A-MA-ZING! I would recommend it to anybody and everybody…Truly, getting the activities in to get the cultural background and working with the students in school…I would do it again in a heartbeat. I’m already talking about doing it again in a heartbeat. Do it!”
— Terry Sharp - High School College and Career Counselor
“My overall experience was incredible! It was so wonderful being in Antigua…to walk those cobble-stoned streets and to see buildings from centuries past, to get to make our own chocolate and our own coffee and learn what all goes into those processes, to visit a weaving museum…the people were lovely, so sweet, so helpful. It was truly an amazing trip, and I would recommend it to anyone.”
— Chris Viar - High School Spanish Teacher
“I really enjoyed my experience on our Guatemala trip! I feel like I gained a much better understanding of how overwhelmed our students are when trying to learn content and the language. It definitely opened my eyes more to the need for really high quality ELL support in the classroom. I also enjoyed the exposure to the culture through food, language immersion, and experiences like the coffee tour.”

Vacations
“Robin was fantastic! She planned our honeymoon to Maryland and took care of everything, making a stressful time for us a little less worrisome.
All of our transportation went off without a hitch. Since my wife and I stress over getting places, this was essential in a travel agent. Robin had everything lined up, and we even got an upgraded rental car!
Our hotel along the beach was peaceful and very well-maintained. We had a suite with a kitchen and dined along the boardwalk overlooking the ocean.
Robin planned some amazing activities for us! We got to swim with otters, master an escape room, shop the boardwalk, and visit a quaint museum. She also built in plenty of time to relax, knowing that is our travel style.
Use her. You won’t be disappointed.”
— Daniel Tackett, Ocean City, Maryland honeymoon
Robin planned my birthday trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon etc etc!!
We set a budget and gave her a list of places we wanted to visit. She developed a packed itinerary that gave us an amazing experience. We plan to go to Hawaii next year and will for sure use her again.
